Delete your account
Effective date: August 10th, 2026
You can delete your Finent account and everything in it at any time, without asking us. This page explains how, and exactly what goes.
1 From the mobile app
- Open Finent and go to the More tab.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Confirm your password — leave it blank if you sign in with Google — and confirm once more when asked.
Your account is deleted immediately and the app returns to the sign-in screen.
2 From the website
Sign in and go to Account → Personal data. You can download a copy of your data there first if you want one.
3 If you cannot sign in
Email us from the address on the account and we will delete it for you. We may ask you to confirm a detail or two first — only enough to be sure the request is coming from the account holder, because an unverified deletion request is a way to attack someone else's account.
4 What gets deleted
All of it. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no recovery window and no archived copy, so please export anything you want to keep first.
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Your profile | Name, email address, password, and two-factor settings |
| Your budget | Every income, bill, and pay period you have recorded |
| Your sinking funds | Each fund and everything set aside in it |
| Your history | What you set aside in past pay periods |
| Your preferences | Currency, date format, and notification settings |
| Your devices | Push notification tokens, so no notification outlives the account |
| Your sessions | Every signed-in device is signed out |
If you share a household with someone, you are removed from it. Their own budget is theirs and stays with them.
If you have a paid subscription, it is cancelled as part of the deletion — before the account row goes, since afterwards there would be no account left to reach the billing portal from.
5 What we keep
Records we are legally required to hold — payment and tax records held by our payment processor, for example — are retained for as long as the law requires and no longer. These contain no budget data. See our data retention policy for the detail.
