Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using Finent. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Finent ("the Service"), you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and that you accept these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
2 Description of Service
Finent is an open-source personal budgeting tool that helps you track income, expenses, utilities, savings goals, and budget groups. The Service is provided "as is" and is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
3 Account Responsibilities
When you register for an account you agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information
- Keep your password confidential and not share it with others
- Notify us immediately via our contact page if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
- Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used in a manner that is abusive, fraudulent, or harmful to other users.
4 Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Transmit any malware, viruses, or other malicious code
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from the Service
- Use automated tools to interact with the Service in a way that impairs its performance
- Circumvent any rate-limiting or security mechanisms
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
5 Intellectual Property
You retain full ownership of all financial data you enter into the Service. We do not claim any rights over your personal budgeting data.
6 Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by reference.
7 Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information displayed within the Service.
8 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Finent and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the total fees, if any, paid by you to Finent in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9 Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time via Account Settings → Delete Account. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed in accordance with our Data Retention Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
10 Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the applicable territory.
